In February of 1573 an underprepared Watch led by Ballandan "The Unprepared" Torquelles faced a far superior force of pirates. Realising that he did not have the forces neccesary to defend the town, Ballandan led his men to instead buy time for the citizens to flee the town into the Island, taking only their most imporant possessions. While more than half the town was burned and much of the townspeople's possessions stolen, the tactic was successful in minimising lives lost - some 100 fewer men were killed and 160 fewer people were taken prisoner than when Miltona was last sacked in 1501.
