Evelien Torres was born in Koningstad, to a pair of teachers. She began acting as a child, appearing in poster and television adverts as a young child. In 1991, she was cast as Kate Heerschap in the popular series In the Old Cellar, playing that role until 1999. She was best remembered for that role and found it hard to shed the image of "little Kate".
Torres moved on to film, with a role in Life and Times of Hans Ziemerink in 2002. Torres had a supporting role in Queen Street from 2001 to 2004, playing the daughter of a Spanish immigrant couple and girlfriend to one of the main characters. Torres left the series due to financial issues.
Shortly after she was given he starring role on Channel 5's comedy series Five Floors of Hell in 2005, playing the protagonist until the end of the series in 2009. With this role Torres finally received good praise for an adult role.
In 2013, she rook on the role of "difficult" girlfriend Emma on the 2013 series Taking on the World, alongside Felix Bitting. She will appear in the fantasy film Blanca in 2014 as one of the witches.
Personal life[]
Torres had been the girlfriend of footballer David Temple circa 2004. She is married to photographer Pedro Almagro.
