The Dortmund Type 55 was a medium-sized car produced by Dortmund Motor Company from 1948 to 1959. The 55 was introduced as the first postwar model for the company and was updated in 1955 as the Type 66.

Model Overview[]

Type 55[]

The Type 55 was introduced in 1948 as the first all-new car, the replacement of the 1940 Berline. This car was available as a two-door saloon in 1948 and was joined by a four-door saloon in 1950. A four-door estate was sold in 1954 and 1955.

Type 66[]

The Type 66 was introduced in 1955 as an update on the original car. The Type 66 had many of the same mechanics as the 55 but featured reworked styling which made the cars lower and sleeker. A pillarless hardtop coupe, the 66 Luxe would be introduced that year. The last Type 66s were produced in 1959, with final models having small chrome fins at the rear.
