Gabriel Nadir (born 1986, Cape Cross) is a Brunanter footballer for the Dortmund SFC and the Brunant national football team.
Career[]
Standard FC[]
Nadir joined Standard 88 Cape Cross' youth squad in 2004 at the age of 18. In 2006 he was called upto the senior side, playing in three 2. Liga matches. In the 2007 season he played six times, as well as having a single appearance in the club's Johan II Cup run.
ACF Fiorentina[]
In 2007, it was announced that Italian side Fiorentina had acquired Nadir for around €1,500,000. But, at Fiorentina he had little opportunities and only one start in the season. In the summer transfer window, there was speculation he would be traded.
FC Drenthe[]
In June 2008, Brunanter outfit FC Drenthe acquired Nadir for 1,700,000€. In his three seasons with the club, he started 61 times with Drenthe and helped them to a third-place finish in 2009 and 2010.
Grijzestad[]
In 2011, the Grijzestad Strijders paid an unprecedented €2,800,000 for Nadir. He was involved in their 2011 Continents Cup season and helped them to second place. Nadir has not won any honors with Grijzestad but has been instrumental in holding the midfield together.
Dortmund SFC[]
In January 2013 Nadir joined Dortmund SFC for €9,000,000, a then-record for a Brunanter defender. Nadir's contract is for 3 years and worth €1.8 million yearly.
International career[]
Nadir was first called up to the Brunanter senior team in 2007, following his move to Fiorentina. He made one appearance that year, in a 2-1 win over Austria. He participated in the 2008 Micronations World Cup but only appeared twice. His first goal came on June 11, 2009, in a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Germany.
Personal life[]
Nadir's family from his mother's side is of Barzuna origin. From his father's side, he has mixed Jordanian-Barzuna origins. He was engaged to fashion model Katrine Colby in October 2012, and married her in 2013. He had a previous relationship with actress Sarah Handley.
