I Don't Care is a 1968 song by The Dragons, first heard on their hit film Vijf, Buiten Kijf! and released on their 1969 album Vijf, Buiten Kijf!. It was written by Cris Flipsen and James Ready. This was their first English-languge hit, and their biggest hit released. Flipsen was greatly inspired by teen anthems like The Who's My Generation and The Wild Ones' Wild when writing I Don't Care.

Hey baby I don't care, I'm gonna go my way
We're always called too young, we don't belong among
They always put us down, run around, say we're not ok

Hey why can they not see, that I was meant to be
I need to get a chance, don't judge me at first glance
I know I can be mean, wait and see, don't just bother me

Do you think I care, well not a lot
I known I'm mighty good, to give a thought
In and out and up and down
Now move on out, and run about
Cause I don't care
I really don't care

When I was just I child, they used to think "he's wild"
But growing up I see, still say the same to me
I'll really show you wild, flash my style, most of you'll agree

The youth are made to feel, like we're unwanted childs
We cannot spell our names, they call us their own shames
But we are humans too, walk and talk, words do really hurt

But do you think I care, well not a lot
I known I'm mighty good, to give a thought
In and out and up and down
Now move on out, and run about
Cause I don't care

I really don't care
I really don't care
Yeah, I really don't care
