Holtby participated in her first Olympics in China in 2008. She participated in the 100 metre backstroke but didn't do well and she also tried the 150 backstroke but she came in fifth. Suprisingly she had a good start in the 150 metre breaststroke and she won a bronze medal which was her first medal in any swiming event.

Holtby was the fastest girl in her age group on her swim team, and she began to pursue an olympic career when she was eleven, often beating much older athletes in her events. She did not qualify to participate in the 2008 Summer Olympics, although she was able to go to the the 2012 Summer Olympics. She went to the finals in the 100 and 200 meter backstroke, 100 and 200 meter breaststroke, and the 200 meter individual medley. She did not qualify for the finals in the 400 meter individual medley. After the completion of the races, she ended with a bronze medal in the 100 m breaststroke and a silver medal in the 200 m breaststroke.

In The 2012 Olympics in she took the silver in the 150 freestyle and a gold in the 150 metre breastroke on August the 1st. On August 3 she came fourth in the 250 metres mackstroke and was this close to getting another medal by 0.8 seconds. She has the only medals for Brunant in the 2012 oylmpics and is the 2nd most medalled olympian for Brunant.

Kirsten Holtby (29 March 1990 in Koningstad) is a Brunanter swimmer. She was born to John and Carline Holtby as a nice of Oliver Hewton. Her main strokes are breaststroke and backstroke, but she also participates in the individual medley.

Biography[]

Holtby was born on 29 March 1990 in Koningstad, Brunant. She took an interest in swimming from a young age, as her parents often swam, though not competitively. Holtby was the fastest girl in her age group on her swim team, and she began to pursue an olympic career when she was eleven, often beating much older athletes in her events.
