Q Group has invested millions in firms such as KCVD Group, tell.me and others in over 40 years. When Abdullah died in 2010 his son Hamid took over the business. One of his first moves was to integrate his share of Maxi group into the firm, thereby amounting to 40%. In 2012, 22% of company shares were sold to private investors.
