History[]

The club was founded in 1962, but only joined the Brunanter Basketball League in 1983. In the 1980s and 1990s, the RUK's basketball team was among the lowest-ranked clubs in the BBL and only consisted of amateur players, mostly students of the university itself. Since the mid-2000s, the club has attracted several international and professional players. RUK BC finished in second place in the 2017-18 BBL season, their best result ever.
