Sofia and Helene

Sofia Irene Martins (born 29 December 1990) is a Brunanter socialite and journalist. She was formerly a fashion model. She is well-known in the media for being a heavy party goer. Martins is a close friend of Queen Helene.

Biography[]

Martins was born in Grijzestad. Her father Hendrik was involved in the media, at one point the largest owner of De Waarheid. Her father was a close friend with then-Prince Anthony, and Sofia has thus been a friend of Princess Helene and Prince Alexander from childhood. Her mother is Indonesian.

She studied at the Sint-Genis College. She was discovered by the Vupoint modeling agency in 2006, and she appeared in a number of adverts and at Mode Week 2008. She became a much closer friend of then-Princess Helene at the Grijzestad University, where she studied journalism. She was the maid of honor at the princess' wedding in 2012.

Between 2007 and 2010, she was the girlfriend of Prince Alexander, and appeared at some events with the Royal Family.

Martins was a model for Cassals from 2009 to 2013. From 2013, she has appeared for Paco Rabanne and Orsini.

Martins began writing a fashion column for De Waarheid in April 2012. She is now largely focused on writing about fashion for the newspaper and other online sites.

She was criticized in the media in 2010 for crashing a new Mercedes-Benz convertible following significant drinking. In early 2012, she was taken to a hospital for excessive drinking at a party in which Princess Helene was also present.

In October 2015, she married Jeremy Patrickson (born 1980), the eldest son of the Countess of Drenthe. Martins gave birth to a daughter, Rosie, in November 2016, and a son, Louis, in September 2018.

Martins has begun a line of cosmetics in 2019.
