Stefan Klemenčič

Stefan Klemenčič (born 7 July 1940) is a Julianan former director of the Internal Police (NPI), the secret police of Juliana.

Biography[]

Born in Pisona, Juliana, Klemenčič joined Juliana's secret police, the Internal Police (NPI) in 1965. He eventually became a senior director in 1976. From 1982 on, he lived in anonymity in Brunant, when the communist government in Juliana collapsed. Klemenčič lived in Cape Cross under the name Andreas Kaminski and had a wife, whom he married in 1986.

His whereabouts and secret identity were uncovered by a Julianan-born journalist for De Waarheid in 2014, who had been the person who wrote of his escape from Juliana in 1982, continued trying to locate the man through the years. The journalist followed several local leads.

Klemenčič was arrested by the Julianan National Police and upon that, an extradition process began under the request of the Julianan government. Though Klemenčič and his lawyer tried to argue against extradition, stressing the length of time since any supposed crimes, he was branded an illegal immigrant and was sent to Juliana in March 2016.
