Victoria Grand Dame is a Brunanter producer of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. It is based in Cape Cross. Victoria Grand Dame and Intermod of Juliana merged in 2015 to form Finist.

History[]

Grand Dame was founded in 1951 as one of the first commercial producers of the bijenwasser liqueur. Victoria was founded in 1959 as a Brunanter vodka manufacturer. Victoria became rather popular, but financial issues led it to merge with Grand Dame in 1969. Victoria Grand Dame has expanded to include a variety of beverage companies, making it the largest domestic firm in that area.

The company had a cider brand named Victoria's Cider, but it was sold to the Libertan cider company Peter Haling in 2007 since cider was not rather popular in Brunant.

Victoria Grand Dame acquired coffee and tea company Red Seal in 2015 as part of a merger with the Julianan-based Intermod to form Gruppo Finist S.A.

Brands[]

Bijenwasser[]

Grand Dame is best known for its bijenwasser, a sweet honey liqueur enjoyed worldwide. Their bijenwasser is among the most famous brands. Having been around since 1951, they are the largest distiller of the drink and command a 58% market share (2018). Grand Dame's bijenwasser received an "85-89", in the Wine Enthusiast's 2008 spirit ratings competition, which is a very good score.

Printanier wine[]

Victoria Grand Dame also produces printanier wine under the "Grand Dame Estates" label. While being made from an inferior-quality grape than Chester Valley moscatels or listans, it is significantly cheaper and thus used for everyday consumption. In 2018, they produced 1,321 cases of Grand Dame Printanier.

Vlierdrank[]

Grand Dame is the one of only two companies producing vlierdrank, a less popular beverage. The production, however, is very small and the liquor is inferior to Isolabella, a rival producer.

Vodka[]

Victoria's vodka was introduced in 1959 and was a fairly popular brand, being the only domestic vodka producer. The brand was reorganized as VO in 1999 as a premium grain vodka.

Bevo water[]

Bevo is the country's most famous bottled mineral water. It has it source on the Martiges River and was sold to Victoria Grand Dame in 2002.
